Alternative therapy for stuttering

I offer what I call an alternative to the traditional forms of speech and language therapy for stuttering. I attended speech therapy for fourteen years despite the fact that I never ever believed that it would provide me with the answers that I was looking for, the answers that would ultimately enable me to achieve fluency.

The speech therapists were nice enough, as people, however they did not really have the skills or the understanding of this type of speech impediment. This was without doubt partly due to the fact that they had never had a stutter themselves - lucky them.

The speech courses that I run and the self-help therapy products are more of what I would call specialised stuttering treatments as they are being provided by a person who has had and who has overcome a stutter.
