Fed Up With The System

I read a superb letter in the Daily Mail this morning, it was written by a lady from Sheffield.

She stated that she was a seventy-five year old widower and that she doubted whether she had “that long to go”.

Over the last couple of years she had seen diminishing returns due to lower interest rates on her ISA and Premium Bonds. She had also seen the value of her house plummet due to the current financial downturn.

She had decided that enough was enough; she was going to sell her house, liquidate the Premium Bonds and ISA and spend the lot on a luxury round-the-world cruise in the best cabin with a butler.

On her return to the UK, she planned for the state, who she blamed for destroying her pension, increasing her fuel bills and council tax, to support her on benefits and in a council flat for the rest of her life.

Is this what it has all come to? The lady has to sell up whilst the bankers, of which many people blame this current crisis on, continue to be paid bonuses! Something is not right.

Many people have a real lack of confidence with the current system, and who can blame them?
