Joe Biden has overcome a stutter

I am not sure if you aware that the vice presidential candidate, Joe Biden, has confirmed that he has overcome a stutter.

It is always good news to have famous people talking about stuttering as it helps keep this form of speech impediment in the news spotlight.

As many readers of this blog often say to me, there is far too much negative comments about stuttering and the types of therapy that are on offer. These are usually found on so called stuttering blogs and are usually written by people who have been unable to overcome the problem themselves. Yes traditional speech therapy is often less than productive however many many people have managed to overcome a stutter using more specialised methods.

People such as Biden should be applauded for giving people renewed inspiration, people who encourage acceptance should feel ashamed. Just because they have been unable to have the dedication and work ethic required to achieve fluency does not mean that other people will not succeed. Maybe they should start a new blog about "how to fail".

People who think negative will have negative experiences, people who think in a positive manner will have positive experiences, on this blog we will concentrate on being positive. Yes to achieve fluency is far from easy, I am sure Joe Biden will confirm this, but it can be achieved!
