Mimicking Stuttering - Do not let the idiots get you down
I had a rather sad e-mail last night from a fifteen year old boy from New Zealand. He has been having a rather tough time at school as some of the members of his class have been mimicking his stutter. He has stated that it really gets him down and that his overall self-confidence has fallen as a result.
His father has purchased the gain-confidence fast track product which also includes the seventy-minute stuttering therapy DVD. I will be working very closely with him in the future via e-mail and the telephone to help him to implement the techniques, to enable him to ultimately achieve fluency.
I have spoken with this young man a couple of times on the phone and he certainly seems to have the right attitude, he is very determined and is willing to put in the required hours of practice.
I am sure that the majority of people who have or have had a stutter have been mocked at some stage of their lifetime. It is very tough to deal with and at times we would like to strike out in anger at these people. This however is probably not the answer despite how tempting it might be. At the end of the day we need to try and ignore these bullies, they will get their's in time!
I personally attempted to pity the people who bullied me, they are obviously the ones who have a problem, they are the ones who follow the crowd, they are the ones who are un-educated and they are the ones who will struggle in the future, unless they change of course. I have even prayed for these people in the past. How crazy is that?
