Stammering Laughter
The weekend stammering course went very well and already the course attendee has contacted me to say just how well she has been doing since she has returned home. This is all very positive and she has stated that she is going to continue to contact me on a regular basis to ensure that the fluency continues. I like to nag you see to get accross a message of just how important practice is even if people think that they are doing very well. Only when the techniques have become a natural part of ones speech should they start to relax and have full confidence that total fluency will be sustained.
We had a lot of fun and laughs throughout the course. It is good to talk about something which has affected the both of us and we were laughing about experiences that have actually caused us to cry in the past. For example all of our "get out clauses", at a bar pointing to a drink or beer pump; takingĀ a beerĀ bottle up to the bar and pointing at the particular label to the barman/barwoman; "three more of these please".
We both have had issues in the past when meeting new people. We were laughing at how people always seem to ask the same questions:
Where do you live? Where do you work? Which football team do you support?
My client stated that she had considered having a t-shirt printed with all of these answers on so that she could just point to the appropraite answer etc.
It is good to laugh about your past problems, after all we have shed enough tears.
