The fear of giving a father of the bride speech

I had a telephone call this evening from somebody who's daughter is getting married in August. His name was Tony and he was extremely worried that his stutter would ruin the whole day. The thought of having to give a father of the bride speech fills him with dread and fear.

With only a couple of weeks to go before the big day time is running out quickly and unfortunately for Tony the next available course is currently two months away.

Tony has decided instead to purchase the seventy-minute DVD and course notes booklet and he is going to phone me regularly for additional advice.

Public speaking is a nerve wracking experience for the majority of fluent people and therefore you can imagine just how scary it can be for a person who has a stutter.
