Very interesting client

I had a lovely lady attend the course last week. She has had a stammer for as long as she can remember and felt, as many of us have, that traditional forms of speech and language therapy had rather let her down.

The lack of real understanding of the speech therapists only adds to the frustration. She had personally attended various forms of speech and language therapy for over thirty years and the problem was only becoming worse - I guess you could say that it didn't really work for her then!

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the time that I spent with her and I wish her every success in the future. She has said that her life has been in two halfs - the first being as a stammerer and the second, which is just starting, will be as a fully fledged fluent person. It really is an amazing buzz to see a person leave the course with such a glow about their person.

The world is now going to see the real Mrs Powell!
